As per the Thai Ministry of Education (MoE), anyone wanting to teach in K-12 schools must possess a Bachelor degree in education from an accredited institution. If the degree is not in education, applicants must complete a 120 hour TEFL/TESOL course or have a Master degree in Education. Also, applicants must be able to provide a clean police report from their home country and/or last country of residence. The requirement for the completion of a 20 hour Thai culture and ethics course is still on the books, but likely on its way out as approval for the course to be taught by providers such as UEC has not been issued since mid-2011.
