To work at an international school, either look at the International Schools Association Thailand (ISAT) website or contact the schools directly. Have your teaching portfolio, police background check docs and resume plus university transcripts and written teaching philosophy ready for the interviews. You can also apply with ISS or Search Associates to attend a recruiting fair, as both organizations hold fairs in Bangkok in the spring. If you are already residing in Thailand and get hired by an international school in Thailand, be aware that the school will pay you the “local hire” salary and often pay a decreased monthly housing allowance than if you had been residing outside of Thailand. As an overseas hire, you receive a “foreign hire” salary and housing allowance package.
